9FQ Hammer Mill — grind your own feed at 100 to 3,000 kg per hour

The machine most small farms start with. Maize, soybean meal, rice husk, groundnut vine and dry straw — one rotor, one screen, and the fineness is whatever you set it to. Single-phase from 3 kW, so you do not need a three-phase line to begin.

Why this machine

Feed is the biggest line on a livestock farm's cost sheet. Grinding in-house is the first place to cut it.

A 9FQ pays for itself on the difference between buying milled feed and buying grain. It is also the least fussy machine on the farm — no electronics, no hydraulics, and any village workshop can weld a broken bracket.

01

One rotor, many raw materials

Maize, sorghum, wheat, soybean meal, groundnut cake, dry straw, groundnut vine, rice husk and cassava chips all go through the same chamber. Only the screen and the feed rate change.

02

Fineness you control

Fitted with a 1–8 mm screen as standard. Poultry and fish starter feed want 1.2–2 mm; cattle and goat feed run 3–6 mm. Swap the screen in about ten minutes with one spanner.

03

Runs where the farm is

Models up to 4 kW are available in 220 V single phase, which means you can start on a domestic supply. Bigger models take 380 V three phase, or 440 V / 60 Hz to order.

Model selection

Seven models, one capacity ladder

Pick by how many tonnes of feed you make per day, not by motor size. The shaded row is what most mixed farms (poultry + pigs + a few cattle) end up buying.

Capacity is measured on dry maize at 12–14% moisture with a 3 mm screen. Straw and rice husk run 30–40% lower. * Weight and crate size are nominal, for freight planning — they are not a weighing report. The packing list issued for your exact unit is the binding document; ask for it before you book freight or calculate import duty. Crate volume includes a 15% allowance for the case.

Build details

What you are actually buying

Four rows of hammers

Reversible hammers — turn them over when one edge wears instead of buying a new set.

Perforated screen

1–8 mm holes, punched plate. Screens are a stocked spare — we send two with each machine.

Belt drive to the motor

No gearbox to fail. If a belt snaps, any market in your district has a replacement.

Hopper sized for bags

Wide enough to tip a 50 kg bag straight in without a shovel or a second person.

Gravity or cyclone discharge

Standard gravity chute; add a fan and cyclone if you need to blow meal into a store or bag.

One-page manual, in English

Wiring diagram, belt tension, screen change and bearing greasing — with photos, not just text.

Typical use

Which livestock it feeds

Same machine, different screen and different mix. These are the four setups we ship most often.

Layers & broilers — maize + soya, 2 mm screen Pigs — maize + cake meal, 2–3 mm Cattle & goats — straw and vine, 4–6 mm Fish — 1.2–2 mm, slow feed, then pelletise Feed resale — 3 mm, into 50 kg bags

Rule of thumb: run the mill 2–3 hours a day, not 8. A machine worked continuously at its maximum rating wears screens and bearings much faster.

Questions buyers ask

Before you order

Does the price include the motor?

Yes. Every quotation is for a complete machine with the motor wired for the voltage you tell us — 220 V single phase, 380 V three phase, or 440 V / 60 Hz built to order. If you already have a motor and only want the mill body, say so and we quote it without.

Can I run it on 220 V single phase?

Up to 4 kW (9FQ-320 and 9FQ-360). From 7.5 kW upward the machines are three phase only — this is a physical limit of single-phase motors, not something a different supplier can solve. If you only have single phase and need more output, buy two smaller units rather than one big one.

How fine will it grind?

Between 1 mm and 8 mm depending on the screen. Two things to know: very fine grinding (1.2 mm for fish feed) cuts capacity by roughly half, and wet or high-oil material blinds the screen. Feed dry — below 14% moisture — and the numbers in the table hold.

Can it also grind straw and rice husk?

Yes, but expect 30–40% less capacity than maize, and use a 4–6 mm screen so the chamber does not clog. For bales and long straw, chop first with a chaff cutter — running whole stalks through a hammer mill wastes power and wears the hammers unevenly.

Lead time and shipping

10–15 working days from deposit. Small models ship LCL from Qingdao or Shanghai; a 9FQ-420 needs about 0.7 m³, so it travels comfortably with other cargo. We give you the CBM and gross weight before booking so you can compare freight forwarders.

Warranty and spare parts

Twelve months on the main frame and rotor. Hammers, screens, belts and bearings are wear parts — two sets ship inside the crate with every machine, and further sets go by courier, usually 5–7 days. We keep 9FQ wear parts in stock all year.

Do you provide CE or ISO documents?

CE marking is available on selected models and we send the current certificate for the exact model you are buying before any deposit. If a model is not covered, we say so instead of shipping a sticker. Standard export documents — invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin — come with every shipment.

Tell us your stock, we name the model and the price

Most buyers send a message like “I have 200 layers and 15 cattle, single phase only”. That is enough for us to answer properly.
